2022 Marion County Chamber of Commerce Awards
- Each year the chamber invites the general public to submit nominations for citizen of the year in recognition of a person(s) in our community for his or her outstanding community involvement. This year there were two winners of the citizen of the year award – Alyson Riley and Kathy Tierney. Alyson was recognized for her work as Community Director for the Champion Recovery Program whose goal is to help women in crisis and recovering from trauma, addiction and/or co-dependencies. Kathy was recognized for her work with the 12th Judiciary Children’s Advocacy Center, the National Cornbread Festival, Rotary, and the Chamber of Commerce.
- The Hometown Heroes Award was given to The National Cornbread Festival for 25 years of dedication to our community and it many visitors.
- Business of the Year winners are recognized for their community involvement and corporate citizenship, growth in employees, sales, net income, and/or customer base and commitment to good and ethical business practices. This year’s winners were Southern Rehab & Aquatics (small business), Builtwell Bank (medium sized business) and Colonial Chemical (large business).
