Driver’s License

To obtain a Tennessee driver’s license, go to the Acuff Building at 4950 Main St. across from the Dairy Queen in Jasper. Tennessee Highway Patrol personnel are available from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Tuesday – Friday    (423) 942-3794

Upon becoming a resident, you have 30 days to obtain a Tennessee driver’s license. A person must be 15 to apply for a learner’s permit, and 16 to get a driver’s license. Applicants must bring a certified birth certificate, Social Security number, form signed by their school principal, and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or legal guardian must bring two forms of proof of residence.  (Example: Electric bill showing street address). Written and driving tests must be passed to obtain a license.

 Courthouse Annex Room 10124 Courthouse Square, Jasper, TN 37347 The County Clerk’s office is responsible for titling and registration of automobiles, motorcycles, all classes of trucks as well as mobile homes and all-terrain vehicles. New residents may obtain a Tennessee title by surrendering the title from a former state or when there is a lien on the vehicle, the office will accept a registration receipt from the former state along with the name and address of the lien holder. An odometer reading is required on vehicles less than 10 years old. Registration of boats and jet skis are processed in this office. Business licenses and marriage licenses are issued through this office. Notary commissions are applied for in the office, submitted to the Marion County Legislation Body for approval, and then ordered through the Secretary of State office.
